SSEN proposes ten sites to receive Ofgem funding to reduce visual impact

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has published its 2016/17 Visual Impact of Scottish Transmission Assets (VISTA) review which recommends ten sites to be put forward for a £500m fund administered by the electricity and gas markets regulator, Ofgem, to mitigate the impact of existing electricity infrastructure on the visual amenity of nationally designated landscapes.

Toppling of towers brings new view to the Cairngorms

The final phase of transmission tower removal from the Cairngorms National Park is now under way, with work to dismantle the remaining section between Aviemore and Kingussie marked earlier today with the symbolic toppling of a tower against the spectacular backdrop of the Cairngorms Mountain Range.
