Every day, across all activities of our business, we need to engage with people (our stakeholders) who have an interest in or are affected by what we do and how we do it. Because of this, we have a responsibility to ensure our engagement activities capture the views, needs and expectations of our stakeholders – and that we use that information to shape how we do things. To do this we have adopted a six-point approach to stakeholder engagement which follows best practice in the energy industry and beyond.
However, we recognise that we need to do more. Our aim over the next six months, with the help of an external consultancy firm, is to discover and validate a new strategy for stakeholder engagement. To start this process, we will be reaching out to our stakeholders to gather information that will ensure our approach is tailored to our business and the people we interact with.
