Public invited to have their say on Fasnakyle to Bingally connection plans

We are encouraging local residents and community members to attend a public consultation event to learn more about proposals for the Fasnakyle to Bingally 132kV Connection.

The event will take place at Cannich Hall on Tuesday 6 October, between 3.30pm and 7pm.

It will give local residents and other interested parties an opportunity to view the latest proposals for the project, which involves a new 132kV electricity transmission connection between the existing Fasnakyle substation and the new Bingally 400/132kV substation.

The connection would be around 10km in length and include a combination of existing 132kV towers and new underground cable.

Representatives from SSEN Transmission will be available throughout the event to answer questions and provide more information about the route selection process and other aspects of the project.

Information boards and consultation materials will also be available, along with details of how people can submit feedback on the proposals.

Kev Jackson, SSEN Transmission Project Manager, said:

“We want to encourage as many people as possible to come along to our event in Cannich to meet the project team and find out more about our latest proposals for the Fasnakyle to Bingally 132kV connection.

“Engagement with the local community is an important part of developing the project, and this is an opportunity for people to ask questions directly, raise any issues or concerns, and share their views with us.

“We look forward to welcoming members of the local community to Cannich Hall on Tuesday 6 October."
