Building a better world

As the electricity transmission owner for the north of Scotland, SSEN Transmission has a crucial role to play in delivering energy security and net zero targets for Scotland and the UK by developing, building, maintaining and operating a network for net zero.

SSEN Transmission’s projects will play a critical role in enabling the transition to a low-carbon economy by establishing the necessary transmission infrastructure to transport renewable energy from the north of Scotland to demand centres across the country. These projects will help to unlock the vast potential of the north of Scotland to meet the UK and Scottish Government's 2030 targets enhancing grid capacity and playing a vital role in ensuring the country's future energy security. This will enable home-grown and affordable energy to reach and power homes across the country.

Putting safety at the heart of what we do

We’re leading the charge when it comes to developing a network for net zero, and we can only do so by having safety as our number one value. We focus on ensuring that our people are healthy and happy at work, and that we have no injuries or serious environmental incidents on our sector-leading sites.

We're all part of the SSE Safety Family. Whether we're an employee, contractor, agency worker, supplier, stakeholder or part of our communities, everyone is empowered to use our safety licence. If it's not safe, we don't do it.
