SSEN Transmission and Balfour Beatty volunteers help revitalise Dundee Scout Hall

Volunteers from SSEN Transmission and our principal contractor, Balfour Beatty, have helped transform a Scout hall in Dundee as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting communities along the route of the Alyth to Tealing and Tealing to Westfield overhead line electricity transmission projects.
The volunteer team spent the day at Dundee Fintry Scouts Hall carrying out a range of improvement works, including cleaning, clearing and painting the building to help refresh the much-used community facility.
The effort builds on wider support already provided to the group, including the donation of tables, chairs, team-building equipment and hi-vis vests to assist with Scout activities and events.
The volunteering day formed part of our commitment to making a positive contribution to the communities where we are investing in vital electricity network infrastructure across Scotland.

Representatives from Dundee Fintry Scouts welcomed the support, which has helped improve the appearance of the hall while also providing practical equipment that will benefit young people taking part in Scout activities.
The volunteers are part of the team delivering our Alyth to Tealing and Tealing to Westfield overhead line upgrade projects. These will involve uprating around 37km of existing electricity transmission infrastructure from Tealing in Angus to Westfield in Fife, as well as a 14km section between Alyth in Perthshire to Tealing.
The project forms part of our wider Pathway to 2030 investment programme, which is upgrading the north of Scotland's electricity network to support the growth of renewable energy and help deliver Scotland's and the UK's energy security and clean power ambitions.
