A £2 million investment to create a cutting-edge facility to make protection and control panels for electricity substations is creating 65 jobs at Siemens’ Newcastle site.
This investment, enhancing production facilities at the Shields Road facility, will add to Siemens’ 550-strong workforce at the historic Parsons Works site.

This cutting-edge facility will significantly boost operational efficiency and production capacity, for the supply of protection and control panels on substation projects. There is significant demand for our panels and the potential in the UK market alone is vast, driven by the clean power mission's need to quadruple grid projects into the 2030s."
