Consultation
We are holding our second statutory pre-application consultation (PAC) event for our proposed new substation adjacent to the existing Berryburn substation. This is our final event as part of the Town and Country Planning process for national developments, to present our proposed design for planning submission following feedback received from the first PAC event.
Date: 17th June 2025 - 3-7pm
Venue: Edinkillie Hall, Dunphail, Forres, IV36 2QW
The project will involve the installation of a new 275kV/33kV grid transformer within a new compound, located on land adjacent to the existing Berryburn substation, on the Altyre Estate, located approximately 12km south of Forres. There are 2 embedded generators driving this project who are in contract with the National Energy System operator (NESO). To facilitate the connection between the existing overhead line tower and the new substation, new downleads will be required.
Comments should not be submitted to Moray Council at this time as they will not be taken into consideration. Statements made to the prospective applicant and their representatives are not representations to the Council. If a planning application is subsequently submitted, then there will be an opportunity to make a direct representation to the Council at that time.
We encourage all members of the local community and all interested parties to attend the event.
If you are unable to attend the public event all the material that will be on display are available to be downloaded from the project documents section of this webpage.
