Salamander Offshore Wind Farm Connection 132kV overhead line route selection (and associated tee compound)

SSEN Transmission is holding a route selection consultation event for a proposal to construct a 132kV overhead line in an area to the north of Peterhead.

The overhead line is required to connect the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm to our existing transmission network.

At the event, we will share several route options (and associated tee compound locations) as well as our potential route. We are seeking feedback from the community and stakeholders, and we invite comments until 8 January 2026 when the feedback period will close.

The proposed 132kV overhead line and associated tee compound is required to connect the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm to our transmission network. The routes being considered for the overhead line and tee compound are in an area between Peterhead and St Fergus.

Please note: We are combining our consultation with the Eastern Green Link 5 project team who will be presenting their routing options at the same event.
