Knocknagael Voltage Support Project site selection consultation

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Transmission invites you to share your views with us.

We are hosting this drop-in event to present information on the proposed works at Knocknagael Substation, the surrounding area, and in the Farigaig area.

This event will present the proposed elements of the project which include:

  • Potential site location options for:

– The extension to the existing Knocknagael 275kV Substation

– A new voltage support facility, Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM)

  • A short section of 275kV underground cable connecting the new STATCOM facility to the substation extension
  • Information on new Shunt Reactors proposed within the Knocknagael and Farigaig Substations

We invite all interested parties to attend our drop in event to discuss our plans with the project team and share your views.
