SSEN Transmission Orkney Link Project team to host information event in Stromness

SSEN Transmission’s Orkney Link Project team will host their next public information event in Stromness on Monday 1 December to provide an update on the ongoing Orkney Link Project and share what’s next as construction continues.

The meeting will take place at The Robert Rendall Building, Orkney Research & Innovation Campus in Stromness from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Monday 1 December, and is open to anyone interested in learning more about the project.

Attendees will hear about progress made so far, including key milestones achieved during the first year of construction, as well as plans for the next stages of delivery. The session will also provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions directly to the project team and their contractors.

The Orkney Link Project, which recently celebrated one year of construction, is a critical infrastructure development that will connect Orkney to the GB high-voltage electricity transmission network for the first time, unlocking the islands’ renewable energy potential and supporting Scotland’s transition to a clean energy future.

This meeting follows previous public sessions held earlier this year, underlining SSEN Transmission’s commitment to keeping local communities informed and engaged throughout the project.
