Staff from the An Suidhe, Crarae, and Craig Murrail substation projects have generously contributed to the Lochgilphead-based Food Share Hub and leading social care charity Carr Gomm.
Essential shopping items donated to the Food Share Hub will go directly towards supporting families and individuals in Mid Argyll with food parcels throughout the festive period.
Meanwhile, more than 60 gifts were donated to Carr Gomm, which will distribute them to vulnerable members of the community including those who are homeless and elderly people without family – ensuring they have a gift to open on Christmas Day.

Caitlin Marini, SSEN Transmission’s Community Liaison Manager for the substation projects, said:
“We were delighted to work alongside our principal contractor, Balfour Beatty, to donate these items to two outstanding local charities that do so much to support people and families in Argyll.
“Through our Argyll substation projects, we are committed to being a positive force in the local community, and these donations are just one example of how our teams are backing initiatives that promote community well-being.
“More donations of gifts and food will follow thanks to dedicated ‘donation stations’ set up at our Argyll substation projects, which SSEN Transmission and Balfour Beatty staff continue to contribute to, as we aim to deliver even more festive cheer.”
Keith Evans, Food Share Hub Co-ordinator, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Balfour Beatty and SSEN Transmission for their generous donation. This contribution, packed with essential items, will go directly to supporting local families and individuals in Mid Argyll.
"Their continued kindness and commitment make a real difference in our community, and we deeply appreciate their ongoing support. Together, we can ensure Mid Argyll remains cared for, supported, and connected.”
