Greens substation team help at local litter pick

Volunteers from our Greens 400kV substation project in Aberdeenshire provided a helping hand at a recent litter pick that took place in Cuminestown, organised by the local community.
As well as providing litter-picking equipment and bin bags, the team joined other local volunteers to tidy up local spaces in time for summer.
Afterwards the volunteers headed to the community hall for some much-needed refreshments, with leftovers donated to a local sheltered housing development.
SSEN Transmission Community Liaison Manager Catherine Cowie said: “Through the Greens substation project we are committed to supporting initiatives that enhance community wellbeing and the local environment, and the litter pick was a great example of this.
“We had a great time working with other volunteers, and we were happy to hire the local hall and provide refreshments so that everyone could get together afterwards over tea, coffee and cakes.
“We’d like to thank Fyvie, Rothienorman and Monquhitter Community Council for inviting us along, and to all the volunteers who worked so hard to tidy up the village for the benefit of the local community.”
