Our East Coast Fund
The East Coast 400kV Overhead Line Upgrade is a crucial infrastructure project designed to reinforce Scotland’s electricity transmission network along the east coast. We are upgrading transmission cables to support the integration of renewable energy projects, helping Scotland progress toward a net-zero future. Currently in the construction phase, this upgraded line is scheduled to operate at 400kV by 2026, enhancing capacity and reliability for renewable energy connections across the region. A key feature of the project is the Community Benefit Fund, developed in collaboration with local community leaders. This preliminary fund aims to support communities near the infrastructure works, ensuring they benefit from the project’s presence in their area. By focusing on local partnerships and sustainable energy goals, the East Coast 400kV Overhead Line Upgrade strengthens Scotland’s energy future and fosters community development. For more details on project updates and community involvement, visit our dedicated project page.
