The Western Isles HVDC Link - Underground Mainland Cable Connection Stakeholder Information Event

We are holding an information Event to provide an update on early works planned in the Contin area in Early 2026.

The event will take place as follows:

Date/time:  Thursday 4th December, 6-8pm

Venue:  Contin Community Hall, Contin, IV14 9ES

These works are to support the delivery of our proposed 83km High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link underground cable, that is planned to connect into our proposed new high voltage AC/DC converter station on the Isle of Lewis and the proposed Fanellan hub near Beauly.

At this event we will present an update on our early enabling works, where we will share information on our plans, including information regarding our proposed compound at Kinellan & our
strategy for tree felling as part of the safe installation of the cable.

The project team will deliver a presentation on the early works before opening the floor to a Q&A session for attendees where the team will answer questions and discuss our proposals further
