We regret to announce that the planned community information events in Aultbea on 7 January and Badcaul on 8 January, which were scheduled to discuss revised plans for proposed roadworks on the A832 as part of the installation of the Western Isles HVDC cable, have been cancelled.

SSEN Transmission is pleased to confirm that the Scottish Government Marine Directorate has granted the variation to the existing marine licence for the Western Isles High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) subsea cable link, allowing the needed increase in capacity, and delivering another milestone in Scotland and the UK’s journey towards a secure, clean energy future.
