The joint venture between National Grid Electricity Transmission and SSEN Transmission has taken a key step forward in the development of the Eastern Green Link 3 (EGL3) project, by naming Hitachi Energy as the preferred bidder to deliver the project’s high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and West Norfolk, England.

Members of the public are invited to attend consultation events later this month to share their views on a new electricity transmission connection between the existing Fasnakyle substation and the proposed Bingally substation, and also to provide feedback on alignment options for the proposed Tomchrasky Wind Farm Connection.

SSEN Transmission Launches £3m Argyll Community Benefit Fund
SSEN Transmission today [Monday] announced the creation of a new local community benefit fund for Argyll, with more than £3m of funding generated for communities hosting the electricity transmission infrastructure for the Argyll 275kV Reinforcement Project – a series of electricity upgrades that will strengthen Argyll’s network.
